Social marketing is not new and is a well recognised and highly effective marriage  combining traditional marketing skills and disciplines, with exemplary creative talent all firmly grounded in social sciences.

Social marketing utilises the full spectrum of traditional marketing skills, and techniques by one group in order to influence and/or modify the behavioural change of another, to a defined target audience, in order to achieve pre identified outcomes, for public and social good.

So what does this involve?
A Key feature of a good social marketing campaign involves the brokering of a voluntary behavioural change of either individuals or societal groups. For any campaigns to be effective, just like any other successful marketing programmes, it must achieve measurable outcomes of pre identified behavioural change for public or social good.
